JULY 2008 DESIGNATED “NATIONAL TAKE A NAKATION MONTH”

(Columbia, SC) July 4, 2008 – The Travelites and the American Association for Nude Recreation (AANR) and The Naturist Society (TNS) have declared July 2008 as National Take A Nakation Month.  http://www.travelites.info

   AANR defines a Nakation as:  na-ka-tion /naykay´shun/ n. & v.~ v. take a clothing optional vacation,    esp. away from home for pleasure and recreation. ~ n. the part of your vacation you’ll brag to   friends about.

National Take A Nakation Month follows in the tradition of Nude Recreation Week, a long successful promotion that typically falls in early July (July 7-13, 2008) and provides first-timers the chance to give clothes-free recreation a try at home or at one of the clothing-optional AANR and TNS affiliated clubs that open their doors to those who are curious during this time. Many of the affiliated clubs have activities and events planned throughout the month such as open houses, “canude” trips, sports and poker tournaments, “bare buns fun runs,” health screenings, fine arts shows and more. 

In celebration of Nude Recreation Week, July 7 -13, 2008, Travelites encourages friends and family to experience the stress-relieving freedom of nude recreation.  Why not take a skinny dip in your backyard pool?  Don’t have a pool? Then wash the family pet in the nude (as a modern-day President is reported to have done), scour the shower in the nude, vacuum the house nude, read a book, wash your dog, or enjoy some other activity in an appropriate setting in the nude.  Some Travelites members will be enjoying a canoe trip on a remote river in our beautiful state. South Carolina is home to five naturist/nudist clubs; North Carolina houses seven more; and Georgia has five additional.

Celebrating its 33rd year, Nude Recreation Week gives first-timers the chance to shed their stress and anxiety by giving clothes-free recreation and relaxation a try.  This annual celebration is for everyone: families and individuals.  Contact us for more information about the closest naturist  venue to you.
