New Account Tips
After creating a free account it may take several hours before "Write on the wall" works as well as your photo gallery on your profile page. This is normal and for security purposes. An administrator has to allow these and if after 3 or 4 hours it still doesn't work e-mail This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it

In the mean time you can at least upload your profile pic, mp3's, invite users and start requesting friends (connections) from other members.

At the moment you don't have to be registered to add music dates, chat live with users, or add events on the calendar. We suggest that you do so your band can upload mp3's,write music blogs, etc. (Internet Explorer requires login for live chat to work, on IE you also have to click the send button vs. enter)

Consider the menu on the top of the site as your user menu although just the "my profile" link: http://columbiacitypaper.com/Community.html will generally guide you to the profile features you'll use most.


Site looks funny, Internal Server Errors
You are still using Internet Explorer
Do yourself a favor and download Firefox at http://mozilla.org
If you are going to insist on using Internet Explorer, at least get the latest version here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx
Even though most sites won't work as well or fast, at least your computer will be safer by being up to date.
Or on IE7 just click refresh to resolve internal server errors.
And on IE6 you'll have to deal with the design of the site being screwed up so scroll all the way down for the content. These are known issues with IE6 all over the web so don't complain about the site, upgrade your browser.

Known You Tube Video Issues
When cutting and pasting a you tube link into your profile you need to add www for it to work
for example: http://youtube.com/watch?v=OGxdgNJ_lZM
change to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGxdgNJ_lZM
and the video will appear.
Both http:// and www are required for the link to work.

Profile URL
Your profile URL is automatically generated when you create an account. For example it may create http://columbiacitypaper.com/To pauly Obviously a space doesn't work in www addresses so simply edit it on your profile url here http://columbiacitypaper.com/Community.html so there's no space/caps and it will work http://www.columbiacitypaper.com/pauly
(feel free to make your URL anything, it can be different than your username.)

"Photo Exchange" on the top menu is not for profile photo's.

This is for general upload for an event or photo set you want the entire community to see. Click "My Profile" to upload profile pics. The "Photo Exchange" is for local photographers to promote themselves and a CP watermark appears on the large photos to help protect their work. Please contact the photographer about terms of use. Some will be happy to offer photos at no or low cost depending on the project.
